Angels do not only help in
life-threatening situations, but also for mundane things
Use Your "Parking Angel"
by Lynn Voedisch
The nature of
angels has been debated for centuries. Even in today's industrial
age, when one would think the world has discounted the existence of
the heavenly messengers, a large number of people still believe in
angels. They exist in nearly all religions in some form or the other
and are always there to help humanity.
But do angels
lend aid only in life-threatening emergencies or do they sometimes
assist in such mundane activities as finding parking spaces? A
lively debate ensued on one Internet mailing list, with most people
agreeing that if you ask, the "parking angel" will come through.
How silly is
this? Well, try it out. Before going out to a place where parking is
problematic, consider calling on your parking angel and asking
(preferably out loud, even if you mumble) for help in finding a
spot, thank the angel, and then go about your business. Don't be
surprised if you feel a little tingle in response. That's your angel
letting you know that it is enthused to be asked. Angels,
particularly guardian angels, exist to aid you in your lifetime on
earth, and they don't like like being ignored. So, even if all
you're asking for is a parking space, they will be delighted.
Go about your
business. You don't necessarily need to remember your request.
Chances are you'll find a spot reasonably close to the front door of
your destination. One person, who believes very much in parking
angels, said that someone will rush out of a store, and back out of
a space--just to make room for her. It might sound incredible, but
just notice how often this actually will happen.
Once the concept
of parking angel has been established, it's easy to go on and ask
for more important things such as health, money, a better job, maybe
even for the welfare of an animal. Once engaged, angels just seem to
explode with power, eager to be enlisted when you need help. They
don't always provide help exactly when you want it, only when it is
the right time for the miracle to happen. As the prayer goes, "thy
will be done." If it's not the divine will for your job to change
until next year, that's the way it will happen. Special needs are
not like parking, because angels must re-arrange many more
situations.
Also, check your
attitude. If you are moaning every day about your job and think
"I'll never get a promotion," well, that's exactly what you'll get.
Help your angel out and think positively about being in that bright
new office or getting a bigger check in the mail.
All of this must
be done with an open mind. If you are of the opinion that angels
only help when a car is overturned or when a truck is speeding
toward your child, well, it's not going to be easy to overcome the
doubt and believe in parking angels. But for those who want to give
this easy exercise a try, the angels will come through.
