This is a singular production. Its uniqueness stems from the instruments used to produce the haunting sounds and the theory of harmonics they are based on. Hopkins has designed and commissioned six different Pythagorean Monochords that are each between two and seven feet long and have between 25 and 117 strings. Two of the instruments are actually large enough for a human being to lie on top of.

The instruments’ design is based on Pythagorean principles of harmony and healing. The great philosopher and mathematician used the intervals between harmonic ratios to engage a healing process within the mind and body. He believed that through music the human soul could become properly aligned, in harmony with the heavenly bodes, which he believed produced their own subtle music that resonates through us all.

After several years of independent research on Pythagoras, Dr. Hopkins has created the harmonix healing system. The music on the CD can be used for raising consciousness, focusing attention, meditation, relaxation, yoga and much more. The sounds within each track resonate with the body’s own natural rhythms and restoring and realigning energies within the mind, body and the depths of the soul. The music has a wonderfully stirring quality that enervates as it progresses through the CD. Each track gives a sense of incorporating more voices and by track four it feels as though a whole orchestra is performing.
